A Black Bird's Prose

A Black Bird's Prose~ Victoria Pettella

Wishing you the magic of the blackest wings..

I know there are alot of kindreds out there that love blackbirds too..this is dedicated to you.

This photo is of a friendly little Grackle that oftens visits my porch....
I love how purples and greens and pink colors sparkle from his chest
in the black sheen of his plumage and feathers.
He returns often..sometimes limping and sometimes bald..he is a sweet soul and he is welcome to visit me anytime. This poem is also dedicated to this beautiful soul!
You may recognize him in other photos I have posted before..what a sweet creature!

Anyone else have secret creature-friends that visit and touch your soul?

Wishing you all a magical week..
thankyou for all your visits and comments..
I will be sure toVisit you all too during this week!
Victoria

When I was little, after I watched The Crow,I was fascinated by the black birds. Now they are kind o f scary, but your imagination not. :)

I'm loving your adventures with graphics Victoria. I love this poem and the little blackbird. I like blackbirds but crows and ravens freak me out. (I've obviously read too much fantasy). Your poem really spoke to me and I read it a couple of times. I think my own animals have always been really special to me, when I am upset, I try relax around them, let down my guard, because they always sense it and gather round to protect me.

A beautiful poem and a beautiful grackle friend. I have always had an affinity for blackbirds of all kinds. I often speak to crows when I am out and about, which always garners strange looks, but I don't mind. :)

For a while my family had many odd encounters with bats, so I have always felt particularly drawn to them.

I love grackles myself Kiki. I'm glad he returns to visit you, though I'm sorry to read about his foot.

I have rabbits that visit me in my tiny backyard and they are so cute!

I just love the wild birds. I bet Mr. Grackle is an old guy, bless his heart. I actually like grackles, but so many people down here in Texas despise them as a nuisance. That type of attitude doesn't sit well with me.

I like looking at their iridescent sheen too. If the light catches them just right, you can see some beautiful colors.

Many blessing to you, friend.

I have a gecko that loves to peep at me when I am watering the plants. They are such shy creatures.

I love your new design work! Very beautiful poetry and words...I have a beloved group of Ravens that I feed and "communicate" with. They are just so amazing, as are all of the winged ones. Thanks for the beautiful post :)

Oh, I am too a fan of blackbirds. Thank you for this beautiful post with your gorgeous words and photo of your little friend. I am touched by butterflies who have come to the yard. Most especially by the hummingbird moth, though, which I haven't seen in my yard in YEARS. He was truly beautiful and such a gift. Usually they are skittish - and zoom away fast. He stayed and allowed me at least one perfect photo. For that I am truly grateful.
